Media Communication

We spark dynamic and inclusive discussions in popular forums, including interactive radio shows, toll-free sms, on-ground forums, listening groups, and social media platforms, chatting apps (Telegram and WhatsApp), web forms (self-administered or researcher-administered) and voice (coming soon). The data collected includes both qualitative and quantitative data, such as opinions, feedback, and demographic information.

Our state of the art data infrastructure leverages qualitative and quantitative research techniques with responsible applications of machine learning to convene discussions and analyse rich local language voices.

PCS uses mixed methods analysis to analyze the data collected from the different sources. For example, we use content analysis to identify key themes and patterns in the qualitative data, and descriptive statistics to summarize the quantitative data. Further, our triangulation process involves comparing and contrasting data from different sources to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings.

Interactive Radio & Toll Free Sms

We partner with the relevant radio station to broadcast interactive radio shows and use a free to SMS shortcode to collect data from our audience. The radio show content is aligned to the intended project objectives. The interactive radio campaigns comprises “magazine” shows produced using a variety of sub-formats including interviews, discussions, recorded audio, human stories, drama and vox pops.

Social Media &
Chat Apps

To complement the above training channels, we will work closely with our partners social media teams to generate content, share and engage audiences on Facebook, Twitter, Personal & Group Telegram Conversations, WhatsApp, Instagram & TikTok. The comments will be pulled back to our data infrastructure for further qualitative analysis. We will also share online web questionnaire forms for further research questions.

Youtube

PCS designs and runs live interactive youtube shows on various thematic issues as agreed by our partners. On the talk-shows, PCS’s moderators host guests who are experts on the focus thematic issue to share knowledge and address any comments/questions raised by the public. The shows are communicated beforehand to targeted audiences who are aware and can watch, participate and learn. In addition, we shall also post all the animation videos on the youtube channel to allow targeted audiences who prefer accessing youtube to get the information.

On-Ground Forums & Surveys

PCS recognizes that not all target audiences can be reached and engaged through our digital and radio-based approaches. Therefore, we propose to hold dialogue-driven approaches using on-ground forums, such as cohort conversations and listening groups. These forums include community role models, mentors, and positive deviants who play a key part in the dialogue and allow for sharing of experiences and possible journeys towards change. The direct contact and interaction with the audience allows them to be the center of the dialogue, leading to increased action taking and learning among the target beneficiaries. This model aims to enhance the chances of influencing and achieving the desired change.
